Netflix recently announced an impressive roster of people working both in front and behind the cameras of Guillermo del Toro’s (Crimson Peak, Hellboy) upcoming anthology horror series Cabinet of Curiosities. According to BloodyDisgusting, the cast includes F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), Ben Barnes (Game of Thrones), Essie Davis (The Babadook), Crispin Glover (Back to the Future), Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead), David Hewlett (The Shape of Water), Tim Blake Nelson (Watchmen), Sebastian Roché (The Man in the High Castle), and Peter Weller (RoboCop).
The list of directors is intriguing. It includes critically-acclaimed horror filmmakers like Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night), Panos Cosmatos (Beyond the Black Rainbow, Mandy), Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice), and David Prior (The Empty Man).
Initially, del Toro created and executive produced the series under the title Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight. J. Miles Dale, who already collaborated with the Academy Award-winning Mexican filmmaker, will serve as one of its showrunners. The production just began in Toronto. Cabinet of Curiosities should come out sometime next year.
