Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp – Official Trailer

The first Ant-Man (2017) movie surprised a lot of people who thought it would be a dud in the theaters. It went on to do a respectable $519 million worldwide and received favorable reviews from both critics and the general audience. Though as we have learned, what the critics have to say about a film should be taken with a truckload of salt. I thought it was ‘okay’, it had a few funny jokes and some instances of impressive visual effects but all and all it was not a film that I returned to often. In fact, I think I’ve only seen it the one time. I do however think that Paul Judd’s Scott Lang plays very well off of other superhero characters, his appearance in Captain America: Civil War (2016) was one of the highlights I thought. Well, it time to see how a second outing fairs with this character in this not-so-solo movie sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. The official trailer has dropped, lets take a peak.

Life was so much simpler in the 80’s and 90’s. Thirty seconds into the trailer and I’m already annoyed. Are they saying that he should not be afraid to work alone or are they saying things would have been better if a woman was involved…argggh! I don’t know. Is it innocent or propaganda? Let’s continue…

“Maybe you just need someone watching your back”

Well that sounds innocent enough..I mean there’s nothing wrong with teamwork. But then Michael Douglas’s last line puts my alert bells up again. Egads…I guess I’ll just have to wait till it’s streaming before I know for sure. As for everything else, it looks much like one would expect, shrink, grow, shrink, grow. Nothing really mind-blowing happening. Wasp’s outfit is not particularly interesting, but I suppose it would be too much to ask to make it a little sexy. I didn’t laugh while watching it, I know the pez dispenser gag was supposed to be funny…but I barely noticed it. If I were to guess, I’d say this movie might be a little bit better than the last one. This is of course assuming there is indeed..no propaganda.
