What started with Scarlett Johansson suing Disney because her metoo themed Black Widow film (which wasn’t very good) bombed at the box office, continues with Gerard Butler dipping his big toe into the litigation waters.
In Butler’s lawsuit against Nu Image/Millennium films, it alleges that the actor is owed $10 million dollars of “backend compensation” for the actioner Olympus Has Fallen (2013). Supposed the producer was doing some “creative accounting” by understating the box office receipts by millions of dollars. They are even charged with giving themselves $8 million dollars which was unreported.
So shady. It looks like this company was doing every dirty accounting deed known to man. If this turns out to be true then Butler should be awarded every penny. Rumor has that there are other actors prepping to launch lawsuits. This could turn out to be more exciting than the actual movies that Hollywood has been producing lately (which wouldn’t be hard).
