This week, Paramount revealed details about its next Transformers movie. SlashFilm reports that the upcoming film will be a prequel called Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Ramos will portray Noah, an ex-military living with his family in Brooklyn. Fishback will play the role of Elena, a museum researcher whose results get stolen by her boss.
While Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take place in New York City in 1994. Furthermore, a part of it will be set in the Incan citadel Machu Picchu in Peru. The movie will explore Transformers characters first introduced in Beast Wars, a spin-off of the original cartoon that focused on Predacons and Maximals, two factions of robotic creatures that could change into dinosaurs and similar beasts. As for the movie’s villains, they will be Terrorcons – a race of evil undead robots revived by the power of the Dark Energon. If all of this sounds a bit too silly for your taste, congratulations: you’re an adult.
