READY PLAYER ONE – See The Future – Trailer

The latest trailer for Ready Player One finally convinces me that directing just might be a depreciable skill.

“In a Dystopian society Virtual Reality will be a super drug…Ernest Cline is such a visionary, and I think has seen the future before any of us could possibly even imagine it.” — Steven Spielberg

I don’t know why Spielberg is under the impression that virtual reality being a thing in the future is somehow unique in storytelling or that Ernest Cline is some sort of Edgar Cayce is beyond me. Did you forget about Neal Stephenson, William Gibson,  Orson Scott Card,  Michael Crichton to name a few. Hell even Stephen King wrote about fricken virtual reality Steven.

Is this the kind of out of touch delusion that wears away at the quality of a persons work? Is this why great directors start churning out poop? They lose touch with reality? What are you babbling about Steven? And the fact that you allowed that “remember when I made good stuff” montage to be placed at the beginning of this trailer makes me question your judgment even more…it was uber cringe.

I’m very concerned, I hope the movie is good but things like this strike me as warning flags.

Anyway, what do you have to say about this Ernest?

    Alrighty then.
