The cast of Eli Roth’s Borderlands live-action film keeps getting more interesting. SlashFilm reports magician, writer, and actor Penn Jillette will play a small role in the movie. According to Jillette himself, he will be presiding over a wedding broken by a fight scene. Jillette and his stage partner Teller made an appearance in Borderlands 3 as a villainous duo Pain and Terror.
This isn’t the only piece of casting news regarding Eli Roth’s (Hostel, Green Inferno) next film. Gina Gershon (Bound, Face/Off, Showgirls) will portray Moxxi, a bar owner and a hostess to underground fighting matches on planet Pandora. Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story) will play Jakobs, and Steven Boyer (Hustlers) will play Scooter the mechanic.
Borderlands is based on a best-selling computer game series by Gearbox Software. Set on a distant planet called Pandora populated by criminals, games follow a group of gung-ho mercenaries searching for Vaults – ancient locations full of advanced alien technology. With a script by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl), the movie will feature, among others, Jack Black, Cate Blanchett (both of whom worked with Roth on The House with a Clock in Its Walls), Jamie Lee Curtis (Knives Out), and Kevin Hart (Jumanji: The Next Level).
