Don Mancini Teases the Premiere of the Chucky TV Series

Don Mancini, the creator of the Child’s Play franchise, recently revealed that the TV series about Chucky would premiere this autumn on SyFy and USA. According to BloodyDisgusting, Mancini will both write and direct the first episode of the show, titled Death by Misadventure.

The article provides a plot synopsis for the series:

After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

Mancini will produce the show with Nick Antosca (TV series Channel Zero; upcoming horror film Antlers). The cast of the show will include Lexa Doig (Arrow), Fiona Dourif (The Blacklist), and Devon Sawa (Nikita). The series will also feature Brad Dourif, who originally voiced Chucky as well as Jennifer Tilly, who provided the voice of Chucky’s girlfriend, Tiffany. The reunion doesn’t stop there either, because Alex Vincent and Christine Elise will be returning as well. Vincent is Chucky’s longtime enemy who first appeared in the original Child’s Play, while Elise played Andy’s foster sister in the sequel Child’s Play 2.
