That Dungeons & Dragons movie seems to be gaining momentum! Several months ago, Chris Pine (Wonder Woman, Star Trek) was cast as a lead. Now, AVClub reports Michelle Rodriguez and Justice Smith will join him in the next Dungeons & Dragons adventure.
Over the last two decades, Rodriguez made a name for herself by appearing primarily in action and science fiction movies like Resident Evil, Avatar, Machette, S.W.A.T., and the Fast and Furious franchise. As for Justice Smith, he is best known for his roles in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. We still don’t know anything about their characters. Even more significantly, we don’t know who will play the party healer in charge of keeping other adventurers alive as they heedlessly storm into a dungeon.
Until now, there have been three Dungeons & Dragons movies, none of which were any good. Then there’s the old 1980s Saturday morning cartoon series. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein – who previously collaborated on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Vacation, and Game Night – are working on this project as well.
