TNT Picks Up Snowpiercer TV Series

    From Deadline:

Full disclosure, about 2/3 into Snowpiercer ( an action/science fiction film directed by Bong Joon-ho The Host (2006)) I started zoning out.
I mean initially, I found the concept about a huge train that holds the last of humanity circling the globe after a man-made ice age was accidentally created to be intriguing. But by the time they got to the back…or maybe it was the front, ah who cares, by the time they got to the big baddy I pretty much lost all interest in the precedings. Can’t really put my finger on any one thing, it just overall ceased to engage my attention. So it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise when I say that I am less than enthused that they are rebooting Snowpiecer as a TV series for TNT.

The show will star Jennifer Connelly Noah (2014), Daveed Diggs Wonder (2017) and the pilot written by Josh Friedman The Black Dahlia (2006) and directed by Scott Derrickson Doctor Strange (2016). I’ve liked a lot of the movies Derrickson directed by I’m still not interested in the project. Especially after hearing what Sarah Aubrey EVP of original programming for TNT had to say about it:

“I’m a personal fan of Bong Joon Ho’s epic film, and jumped at the chance to honor his original vision, yet expand upon the world and characters with a diverse, award-winning cast,”

    and

“Science fiction is the perfect genre to examine issues of race, class, gender and natural resources with thought-provoking and exciting storytelling”

Yeah, I know exactly what that means. You know what…I think I remember now why I started to tune out of the original movie. The social injustice preaching seemed very hamfisted to me.

I guess my Red Pill journey began further back than I thought.
