On Saturday, August 22, DC Comics will host DC FanDome – a special all-day online event featuring a series of panels about its superhero TV shows and upcoming movies. Its Hall of Fame section will present most recent updates about movies like The Batman, Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad, Black Adam, Shazam! 2, Aquaman 2, and The Flash. Moreover, there is a distinct possibility the organizer might announce a new DC movie during the event.
DC FanDome will consist of six interactive sections. Besides Hall of Heroes, these will include WatchVerse (primarily focusing on TV shows set in the DC Comics universe), YouVerse (a corner about the DC fans for the fans), InsiderVerse (a look behind the scenes), FunVerse (collectibles, merchandise, and free comic books), and DC Kids FanDome (DC for kids). It seems most of the panels will be broadcast twice throughout this 24-hour event after which the content won’t be available anymore. SlashFilm chose some of the most interesting-sounding panels. Or, you can go to the official website and check out the entire schedule.
DC Comics decided not to participate in this year’s online-only edition of San Diego Comic-Con. Its timing is hardly accidental. Last week, around one-third of DC’s editorial staff lost their jobs. Most of the people working for the streaming service DC Universe got laid off as well. With DC FanDome DC hopes to create a more positive media buzz.
