Boba Fett Jetpacks to Mandalorian; Reed and Rodriguez Direct

Temuera Morrison (Aquaman) will play THE bounty hunter Boba Fett in the second season of The Mandalorian, says Birth.Movies.Death. Morrison appeared in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones as the bounty hunter Jango Fett, whose DNA was used to create the titular clone army as well as very young Boba Fett. Naturally, you may ask yourself how is Boba Fett even alive after being devoured by the Sarlacc in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. We assume a space wizard did it. As for Morrison, over the years, he reprised his performances as Jango Fett/Clone Trooper in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith as well as by voicing these characters in various Star Wars computer games. His appearance represents a welcome addition to the series.

This isn’t the only Mandalorian news, however. According to the AVClub, the second season will feature episodes directed by Peyton Reed (Ant-Man) and Robert Rodriguez (Alita: Battle Angel). This neatly ties into the show’s tradition of hiring interesting directors in front of the camera (Werner Herzog), behind it (Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, Dave Filoni), and sometimes both (Taika Waititi).
