Yesterday, John Cho and Issa Rae announced the nominees for 92nd Academy Awards. Todd Phillips’ Joker leads with eleven nominations, including the ones for the Best Actor (for Joaquin Phoenix), Best Director and Best Picture. Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Martin Scorsese’s mob drama The Irishman and Sam Mendes’ war film 1917 have ten nominations each. They are followed by Jojo Rabbit, Little Women, Marriage Story, and Parasite, with six nominations each.
Best Picture nominees are 1917, Ford v Ferrari, Jojo Rabbit, Joker, Little Women, Marriage Story, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Irishman and Parasite. Nominees for Best Directors include Mendes, Phillips, Scorsese, Tarantino and Bong Joon-ho for Parasite. Best Actor nominees include Antonio Banderas (for Pain and Glory), Leonardo DiCaprio (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Adam Driver (Marriage Story), Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) and Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes). Best Actress nominees are Cynthia Erivo (Harriet), Scarlett Johansson (Marriage Story), Saoirse Ronan (Little Women), Charlize Theron (Bombshell) and Renée Zellweger (Judy).
